Crisis Management & Resolution

To avoid a crisis is one of the primary objectives of all organizations. SSI consultants work closely with each client in order to anticipate and understand the threats they face and strive to avert or minimize these threats. The key skills required are foresight, strategic thinking and the ability to produce a balanced risk assessment. The key elements of crisis management are agreeing policy, establishing procedures and creating an organization to put these into effect.

Organizational Preparedness

SSI Consultants examine an organization's preparedness to manage and resolve emergency or disaster situations. When required, they will develop and test contingency plans. They will ensure that a robust crisis management structure is in place, and management understands the need for frequent review and, if need be, modification. In addition critical services, programs and operations will be identified and plans developed to provide for their resumption following an unexpected interruption.

Preparation & Assessment of Competency

SSI works with the responsible individuals within the organization to prepare for a variety of scenarios, ranging from bomb threats, hostage situations and natural disasters - to strikes and civil unrest. SSI will assist in the selection, formation and training of task teams and will prepare and present seminars to promote awareness of emergency plans and to brief employees on their individual responsibilities. SSI will prepare, document and conduct practical and table top training exercises to test plans that are designed to meet a worst-case scenario. In this way the objectives of saving and protecting life, minimizing commercial damage and removing or discouraging perceived threats will be achieved.

and Audit

At the core of an effective Crisis Management, Response and Resolution program, are the competent people that, in time of need, will initiate an immediate on-scene response, co-ordinate the activities of task teams and local emergency services, activate business continuity plans and manage the impact on the organization. SSI provides ongoing training, advice and practical assistance to such individuals to enhance their capabilities and works alongside them to impartially audit the various components of the program. In this way, an organization can ensure that key staff are current with best practice and that its facilities, equipment and personnel are fully prepared for any eventuality.
